Campaign
When someone has been killed or seriously injured, the people involved learn the difficult lesson that they can’t change what has already happened. However, they can affect the future. They often become passionate campaigners with a strong desire to improve or change at least one small thing so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Passionate people can make a difference! Using this community, you can team up with like-minded people across Australia who want to achieve the same outcomes as you do. Combine forces to evoke positive change.
We are following the MADD (Mothers against Drunk Driving) model. From its humble beginnings 25 years ago, MADD has evolved into one of the most widely supported and well-liked non-profit organisations in America. What began as a handful of mothers with a mission to stop drink driving has evolved into an educated and effective group of road safety campaigners. These mothers, with the guidance of road safety experts, have now helped save thousands of lives!
As the community grows we will bring in road safety experts so that our campaigners are educated, informed and — most importantly — effective.
We are raising money for a more sophisticated campaign section, but in the meantime you can form groups to promote a cause. How about creating a branded social-networking campaign like ‘Fatality Free Friday’? Or combining efforts with other community members to improve P-plate laws? Maybe a community-based highway improvement group which can lobby policymakers?
Clearly articulate:
- What you want to achieve
- What resources you have to get you there
- What help you need
YOU can help to make a change, simply by networking and collaborating with like-minded people.
